All customers will enrol onto a monthly Direct Debit scheme to become a member of The Splash Academy. A one-off payment will be collected at the centre via debit/credit card for any lessons scheduled prior to the date when the first monthly payment will be taken. We do not accept cheques or American Express.
The monthly direct debit fee is £46.00 per child and will be collected automatically each month on the agreed date of the first. All customers will be protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme.
If your Direct Debit payment cannot be processed, a one-off card payment will be taken at your next lesson to cover the unpaid Direct Debit fee.
The Splash Academy operates 46 weeks of the year with a 2-week shut down over the Easter, 2 weeks in August and 2 weeks at the Christmas period. Your payment is split into 12 equal monthly instalments based on 46 lessons per year.
Your place at The Splash Academy is only confirmed when the Direct Debit is set up and any required prior payments are paid in full. You will receive receipts via our secure payment system confirming your payments and your Confirmationbooking.
Payments for lessons are only taken by Direct Debit, no other method of payment is accepted. By signing these terms and conditions issued by The Splash Academy you are agreeing to pay by Direct Debit, you accept the terms and conditions of the Direct Debit - You understand and agree that if you fail to set up the Direct Debit or cancel it and don’t pay for your lessons by an alternative payment method that we accept, your lessons will be cancelled and you will still be liable to pay the relevant cancellation charge due in accordance with The Splash Academy conditions. Please refer to the Direct Debit Guarantee.
You have 14 days from the date of your booking in which to cancel and receive a full refund. If you have attended any lessons within this 14-day period, you are entitled to a refund for the amount paid, less the cost of the lessons already provided. Your refund will be issued within 14 days of a request made to us in writing. This request may be made by email to hello@thesplashacademy.co.uk
If at any time you wish to cancel your membership, we require 4 weeks notice from your next scheduled Direct Debit collection date. You will receive an email from The Splash Academy confirming receipt of your cancellation notification and listing any lessons remaining before your membership ceases.
You will be removed from lessons immediately if:
The Splash Academy cannot offer refunds should you fail to attend a lesson. Any Missed sessions will be offered a scheduled catch up lesson on a specific day, with a maximum of 3 to be taken per year. Unfortunately, what seems like one simple request is a huge administrative task when spread across hundreds of clients.
If any lesson or lessons must be cancelled at any point by The Splash Academy you will be entitled to a full refund for the cancelled lessons. This will be deducted from your next Direct Debit payment. The Splash Academy is not responsible for any associated costs you might incur because of this action.
Classes with insufficient swimmers will need to be merged with another class. We try to keep class times as similar as possible but unfortunately cannot always guarantee this.
If, due to unforeseen circumstances, there are health and safety concerns or insufficient staff to safely conduct the lesson, we reserve the right to cancel the said lesson(s) and you will receive a refund of £12 for the lesson by means of deducting it from your next scheduled payment.
In the event that the allocated teacher cannot deliver a lesson, we will do our best to ensure another qualified member of The Splash Academy team covers this lesson. If this is not possible, we will inform you by text message in advance of the lesson and you will receive a refund of £12 for the lesson by means of deducting it from your next scheduled payment.
If for medical reasons your child cannot attend their scheduled Splash Academy lesson for 3 weeks or more and you can provide a doctor’s note, then we will keep your account active and offset 50% of the payment from the missed lessons against the cost of your next lessons.

If there is not a suitable day or time, upon agreement with your Splash Academy teacher, we can arrange for you to remain in your current class and add you to a waiting list for other convenient classes which are showing as fully booked.
